Conference Chairs: Stacking, Wheels and Storage
The chair decision in a meeting room is usually about what happens to the chairs when the room is used for something else.
Stacking
Stackable chairs make a room reconfigurable. Check how high they safely stack and whether you have somewhere to put the stack — a trolley is often what makes stacking practical rather than theoretical.
Wheels or glides
Castors are comfortable for long sitting at a fixed table and a nuisance in a room that gets cleared. Glides are the opposite. Choose for the dominant use of the room.
Floor surface
Castors made for carpet behave badly on hard floors and vice versa. This is the most commonly missed detail and the easiest to get right.
Mesh backs
Mesh is comfortable in a warm room over a long meeting. It also shows wear differently to upholstery and is harder to repair.
